Useful links for resume building:
From Wikipedia:
In many contexts, a resume or CV is short (usually one page), and therefore contains only experience directly relevant to a particular position. Many resumes contain precise keywords that the potential employers are looking for, make heavy use of active verbs, and display content in a flattering manner.
Many people (including myself) are viewing Social Networking Sites such as LinkedIn and Facebook as resumes.
I've been delving heavily into MySpace, LinkedIn and Facebook and see certain differences in each:
- MySpace perhaps the original social networking site still seems populated by kids just "messin around". I use mine only because MySpace tends to rank very high in Google
- Facebook is perhaps the best all around useful social networking site with many business people using it for contacts. IMHO facebook is better suited for a resume than MySpace
- LinkedIn is from what I can see all about business. LinkedIn seems as if it was built from the ground up to BE a resume. Best thing I like about LinkedIn is that people on it tend to be very, VERY selective who they allow to be associated with.
